The Western Australian Farmers Federation (Inc), also well known as WAFarmers, were proud to participate in this year’s long anticipated Perth Royal Show, from 24th September to 1st October.
WAFarmers is the largest and most influential agricultural advocacy group in Western Australia. The WAFarmers Board consists of farmers and industry participants who give farmers throughout Western Australia a voice. The group are continually working towards a more viable, profitable and sustainable future for the agricultural industry. One such initiative is the WAFarmers First project, which sees $0.40 from every unit of WAFarmers eggs or milk sold go back to local farmers.
To help widen the reach, WAFarmers were delighted to sponsor the Dairy Pavilion at the Royal Show, along with other major brands, including Brownes, Harvey Fresh, Masters, Margaret River Dairy Company and Mundella. The pavilion included a large screen which showed footage featuring “a day in the life of a WA dairy farmer”. In the main entrance/exit area there was a dairy cafe selling food and drink, in which dairy is a central ingredient (supplied by Harvey Fresh), and coffees using WAFarmers First milk.
Milne AgriGroup was pleased to support the WAFarmers event at the show, with dairy legend, Dean Maughan, and Sales Representative, Amanda Ortiz, attending the Dairy Pavilion on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th September. Proudly hailing from Harvey, Dean is well known in the WA dairy industry, and Amanda is an Animal Science graduate, who has an amazing passion for the Ag industry. Dean and Amanda spent the day talking to the public about farming, animal husbandry and how milk makes its way from the paddock to the kitchen. Show-goers were encouraged to make their way down to the booth and have all their dairy questions answered. This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers, and help educate people about the WA Farming industry.
