Milne Feeds have recently had some changes at Moora depot, with a new location and manager appointed. Local Livestock agent, Rhys Fleay, has taken on the depot, relocating it to his property just 2kms east of Moora, on the Dandaragan Road.
After 12 years of faithful service, previous depot operators, Craig and Donna Tierney, have decided to hand over the reins. Milne would like to take this opportunity to thank the Tierneys for flying the Milne flag in Moora, and wish them all the best. They have helped develop the business throughout the area and will continue to assist Rhys with delivery of pellets to the new depot location. Through their trucking operations, the Tierneys will still be available to transport direct farm loads arranged through the depot.
New manager, Rhys, was born and bred in good sheep country at Kojonup and learnt some of the finer points at Ag college in Denmark for 2 years. He moved to Moora in 2009 with Primaries, where he worked for some 8 years before making the change in 2017 to Elders, where he is today. He has set himself up as a Moora local after 14 year in the district. Rhys has a passion for the sheep industry in WA and is keen to assist growers with feeding requirements via the suite of Milne feed products available. He services Moora and surrounds, which includes travelling east to Beacon, north to Eneabba and south as far as Toodyay.
Rhys purchased his property, just out of Moora on the Dandaragan road, in 2018 and spends his spare time running a few of his own sheep and hobby farming. “If you can’t beat them, join them!” Rhys says. The new depot set up on his property has excellent access for all trucking options, including road trains, along with the ability to provide pellets in bulka bags - by appointment.
Whilst the Moora depot services areas close to Moora and surrounds, clients from as far as Three Springs, Morawa and Perenjori all utilise this great service. Generally, the Milne Feeds’ Moora depot will have stocks of both EasyOne® and LambGro® pellets on site, with the provision to arrange bulk loads to be sent direct to farms.
For local growers, the option to trade grain and pick up pellets from the Moora depot is also available. For those who haven’t tried our trade program, it involves allocating grain within CBH via Loadnet to Milne Feeds, nominating your choice of pellet product at the agreed price and tonnage, and formalising in a contract. Growers also nominate the approximate timing of pellet pickups and nominate the Moora depot as the collection point for their pellets through the season. This system is a great way to both lock in pricing and supply, and to also support a local business. If you would like more information or would like to arrange a Milne Feeds Grain Trade please call Wayne Manoni 0427 099 002 to discuss.
Milne Feeds would like to warmly welcome Rhys on board and wish him well in his new venture with the Milne team. His passion for the industry, front-end livestock knowledge, and property location makes him the ideal partner for local sheep farmers wanting to get the best out of their livestock nutrition. Rhys is also backed by Milnes’ 110 year history, excellent product range, and nutrition specialists who are always available to provide feed and nutrition advice suited to individual situations.
Rhys can be contacted direct for pickups and appointments on 9351 0741.
