Munda Reds recently celebrated another successful sale at their third annual bull auction, held on the 8th April at Glencoe Farm in Gingin, Western Australia. Munda Reds’ first on-property bull sale was held back in 2022, a transition from their previous ‘paddock sales’ from both Munda Station (commercial bulls) and Munda Reds (stud bulls). This year's sale, sponsored by Milne Feeds, was a resounding success, showcasing 160 bulls.
The bulls sold at the sale were all sire verified, semen tested, vaccinated, poll tested, morphology and genomic tested, ensuring buyers’ confidence in the quality of animals offered. Munda Reds produce bulls suitable for a variety of breeding operations, including pastoral and non-pastoral settings.
Munda Reds experienced an impressive turnout of patrons and stakeholders, underscoring their confidence in the resilience of Munda Reds’ breeding programs. The team at Munda Reds extends their gratitude for the unwavering support, recognising the collaborative effort pivotal to the event's success. The auction saw an exceptional 88% clearance rate. The stud bull sales averaged at $10,272, reflecting their superior genetics and performance attributes. The overall average price achieved for all bulls was an impressive $7,572.
The sponsors, including Milne Feeds, LNT Uramol, and Universal Feeders, added significant value to the event by providing incentives to buyers. Milne Feeds supplied half a tonne of pellets with each bull purchased in WA, ensuring optimal nutrition for the livestock as they headed to their new homes. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing the livestock industry. Munda Reds continues to refine its breeding programs to meet industry needs, supported by its dedicated team and sponsors.
